Chipotle Mexican Grill reports updated findings from a previously disclosed data breach of Chipotle restaurants.Â
In the recent investigation, the company disclosed that between March 24, 2017 and April 18, 2017 malware was discovered on point-of-sale (POS) devices designed to swipe cardholder data (like credit card numbers, names and expiration dates) that is read from magnetic stripe as data is routed through POS device.
The malware has since been removed and Chipotle is working with law enforcement and cyber security firms to improve security measures.Â
