Apple releases iOS 12, security updates and new product features

Apple has released security updates to address vulnerabilities and also added many new feature improvements in iOS 12 and multiple other Apple products.

The iOS 12 update includes security fixes for 16 vulnerabilities and improved features to include, just to name a few:

  • Faster and more responsive (faster swipe to Camera, keyboard display, and app launcher),
  • Facetime up to 32 people,
  • Create memoji to match your personality and mood,
  • Improved camera affects with memojis and animojis that can be added to messages and facetime,
  • Smarter photo searching,
  • and more.

iOS 12 also includes new privacy features:

“Safari now prevents Share buttons and comment widgets on web pages from tracking you without your permission. Safari also prevents advertisers from collecting your device’s unique characteristics, so they can’t identify your device or retarget ads to you across the web.”

In addition, Safari will support automatic strong passwords:

“The unique complex passwords for all of your apps and websites are automatically created and saved in Safari and in apps — so you can use more secure passwords without having to remember a thing.”

Security code auto-fill has been added to increase productivity:

“Security code AutoFill. SMS one-time passcodes will appear automatically as AutoFill suggestions, so you never have to worry about memorizing them or typing them again.”

The other Apple products with security updates include: Safari 12, watchOS 5, tvOS 12, and Apple Support 2.4 for iOS.Â
