Android 12 patch addresses Critical ‘remote escalation of privilege’ vulnerability

Google has released a new Android Security Bulletin that contains patches and details of security vulnerabilities affecting Android devices. One of the fixed issues is a Critical ‘remote escalation of privilege’ vulnerability.

An attacker could exploit these vulnerabilities to take control of impacted systems.

One of the patches addresses a Critical vulnerability CVE-2021-39675 in Android 12 devices.

“The most severe of these issues is a critical security vulnerability in the System component that could lead to remote escalation of privilege with no additional execution privileges needed. User interaction is not needed for exploitation,” Google warned in the Android security bulletin post.

Security patch levels of 2022-02-05 or later address all of the issues noted in the Android advisory.
