Cerber ransomware has evolved again and can now steal from Bitcoin wallets.
Now there are two ways hackers can profit from one infection.Â
According to Trend Micro, the Cerber ransomware family has evolved to six separate versions with differences in routines, just in the past several months.
Trend points out that Cerber also tries to steal saved passwords from various browsers and takes place before encryption takes place.
Any saved passwords or Bitcoin wallet information is then sent to the attacker’s command-and-control servers.
Bitcoin wallet files are then deleted from the victim’s system after the theft.Â
