Over the weekend, the WannaCry ransomware variant cyber attack appears to be spreading across the globe as the number of victims have now surpassed 200,000 in over 150 countries.
The latest threat was described by Europol Director Rob Wainwright and revealed in a recent Reuters report.
Experts remind users to patch older PC’s now or risk becoming a victim of the attack. A security researcher has also activated a “kill switch” that helped slow down the spread of WannaCrypt ransomware variants.
Another cybersecurity expert on CNBC’s Squawk Box this morning also warned that Apple users could be vulnerable to similar WannaCry cyber attacks.
