Amazon has been sending out emails to some of their customers notifying them of a “technical error” that led to the leaking of their email.
According to a ZDNet report and several other news sources to include The Verge, the full email is below:
“We’re contacting you to let you know that our website inadvertently disclosed your email address due to a technical error. The issue has been fixed. This is not a result of anything you have done, and there is no need for you to change your password or take any other action.”
Amazon did not provide further details as to how many customers were impacted nor details on the technical error that caused the leak.
