A sophisticated attack group known as Dragonfly is targeting the energy sector in Europe and North America in a new wave of cyber attacks with objective to severely disrupt operations.
The group was known to be in operation since 2011 and has re-emerged within the past couple of years after Symantec and other security researchers discovered Dragonfly in 2014.
The new “Dragonfly 2.0” campaign appears to have re-started in late 2015 and shares similar tools and methods to previous campaigns, Symantec reports.
