Google fixes Chrome 108 zero-day vulnerability (CVE-2022-4262) exploited in the wild

Google has released Chrome 108.0.5359.94 for Mac and Linux and 108.0.5359.94/.95 for Windows with a fix for a High severity zero-day vulnerability exploited in the wild.

An attacker could exploit this vulnerability to take control of impacted systems.

The latest Chrome 108 security update addressed the High severity ‘Type Confusion in V8’ vulnerability (CVE-2022-4262). The flaw was reported by Clement Lecigne of Google’s Threat Analysis Group on November 29, 2022.

Google warned it “is aware of reports that an exploit for CVE-2022-4262 exists in the wild.”

This is the ninth zero-day vulnerability patched by Google this year.

In addition, Google released on December 1, 2022 Chrome 108 (108.0.5359.79) for Android and a ChromeOS / ChromeOS Flex version 109.0.5414.21 (Platform version: 15236.21.0) for most ChromeOS devices.
